  • Eberly College of Science Research Office

The Eberly College of Science Research Office is your key resource for proposal preparation and grant management. They are our "resident experts," who are intimately familiar with our granting agencies and provide the bridge between those agencies' rules and regulations and Penn State's research fund management policies. By providing assistance with proposal preparation, submission and revisions; acting as liaison between faculty and granting agencies; and providing consultation on post-award management of grants, they form an integral part of the proposal preparation and management process.

When preparing a proposal, one of your first steps should be to call the Research Office at 863-0301. They are extremely knowledgeable about the rules and regulations regarding federal grant management, they'll help you ensure that the proposal is complete, in the proper format, and prepared according to agency guidelines. One of the staff will work with you to prepare a proposal budget that is within the agency's guidelines, assist with compiling all the necessary cover and face pages, and prepare the University's internal clearance forms. Once the proposal is completed, they'll send the proposal to the agency via FedEx and ensure that everyone has complete copies of the proposal.
