Melissa Alldred has graduated in 2005 as a student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology graduate program. Her work entailed the mapping of GABA-A receptor subunit domains that target these receptors to synapses. She currently works as a postdoc at the Nathan Kline Institute, NY School of Medicine. Cheryl Keller has been a postdoc in the lab. She has identified GODZ as a first member of the mammalian family of DHHC-type palmitoyltransferases. GODZ plamitoyltes the gamma2 subunit of GABA-A receptors, a mechansm that is implicated in trafficking of these receptors to postsynaptic membranes. |
